November 8th 08; New Batik Paintings!

Our first Batik painting sold rater quckly so we desided to exhibit/ offer you others. Since a few days we exhibit the following 2 Batik paintings from Bali, Indonesia.

Batik: Although the word's origin is Javanese, its etymology may be either from the Javanese amba ('to write') and titik ('dot' or 'point'), or constructed from a hypothetical Proto-Austronesian root beCík, meaning 'to tattoo' from the use of a needle in the process.

If you want to find out more about the art of Batik paintings check out Wikipedia!

October 17th 08; Opening!

Our opening party on the 17th of October was a great success. Synchronized with our event Lisa Kirkman Gallery hosted Dominican painter Rafi Vásquez in an exhibition. Since our stores are side by side we had a nice crowd show up to take advantage of the situation of 2 events merged to one art event evening!
